Critically ill patients need specialized care, and Thursday some in our area are getting updates on new ways to help those patients.
Nurses, EMS, social workers and other health care providers are all taking part in the North Iowa Critical Care Symposium.
Speakers at the event talked about current trends and practices when it comes to treating patients with things like sepsis, burns injuries and high blood pressure emergencies.
“So I think it’s important for two reasons. One is to kind of reaffirm the things that we know and that work but also learn about the newer things that are on the horizon that it’s important for people to understand for their practice,” says Dr. Azeemuddin Ahmed, who spoke at the event.
