Arrest made after high-speed chase in Floyd County

CHARLES CITY, Iowa – Deputies from Floyd County were involved in a high-speed chase on Saturday night.

Officials caught up with the driver, 21-year-old Franklin Foster of Charles City and were then faced with a standoff near Waverly in Bremer County Saturday.

Foster was arrested and charged with failing to obey a stop sign, driving while suspended, felony eluding and assault on a peace officer.

The incident began as officials with the Charles City Police Department responded to Old Highway Road in Charles City and attempted to stop the vehicle.

The incident is still under investigation and additional charges against Foster are still pending.
