ROCHESTER, Minn. – Police say a 14-year-old from Rochester had a gun on school property but they say it was not loaded.
The incident took place Friday at the Alternative Learning School. Authorities say the student was brought into the principle’s office after word got out that he smoked marijuana on the bus ride to school. When his parents were called in, they searched his backpack, finding drug paraphernalia along with a .22 caliber handgun and a box of ammo.
Law enforcement say the teen faces possible charges and they are unsure why he would bring the gun with him.
