Local aw enforcement was also there to speak about bring proactive when it comes to staying safe.
“The self-defense end of things is how they react to things happening to them I like to talk to them about how to prevent themselves from being victimized. Keeping their doors locked, being aware of their environment going on the buddy system when they go places,” says Sgt. Tiffany Creekmur with the Mason City Police Department.
Sgt. Creekmur says she hopes no one will ever have to use any of the techniques but says it’s better to be prepared just in case.
