KIMT News 3 – Its spring now, but Congressman Al Franken is trying to get to the bottom of the winter propane issue.
The Senator from Minnesota says the propane shortage may have started with farmers using it to dry out their crops.
Then came the cold winter and high prices.
Senator Franken says his focus now is finding out how to prevent it from happening again.
“On the east coast they have an emergency supply of heating oil. We may want to make sure that every year we have an emergency supply of propane available,” said Franken.
Thursday a hearing is scheduled in Washington D.C. about the issue.
