SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) — A Sioux City man has been arrested on a charge of neglect after the death of a 2-month-old baby.

Police say 26-year-old Michael D. Williams also faces charges of probation violation and contempt of court.

Officers were sent to UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s hospital in Sioux City after 2:15 p.m. Tuesday to check a report about a dead infant in the emergency room. The child’s name and other details about the case haven’t been released.

Woodbury County Jail records say Williams remained in custody on Wednesday. It’s unclear whether Williams has an attorney. Online court records don’t list the case yet.
