Four injured in two vehicle accident

VENTURA, Iowa – Four people were taken to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa after a two vehicle accident north of Ventura Wednesday.  The Iowa State Patrol says the vehicle driven by 18-year-old Rachel Mary Formanek of Clear Lake was westbound on 260th Street when it ran a stop sign at the intersection with Balsam Avenue and was hit by the northbound vehicle driven by 64 year old Elaine Alison Heesch of Forest City.  Formanek and a passenger in her vehicle, 18 year old Taylor Jane Reising of Garner, as well as Elaine Heesch and a passenger in her vehicle, 69 year old Susan C. Heesch of Forest City, were all injured in the crash.  Emergency personnel had to use mechanical equipment to remove Susan Heesch from the vehicle.  Formanek and Reising were treated for their injuries and released.  Susan Heesch is listed in fair condition and no information has been given on the status of Elaine Heesch.  The accident occurred at approximately 2:55 pm.  Formanek has been cited for failure to obey a stop sign and not wearing a seatbelt.
