Disturbance call results in serious charges

MASON CITY, Iowa – A Mason City man is accused of 2nd degree attempted burglary, 3rd degree kidnapping and simple domestic assault.  Officers responded to a disorderly disturbance call at 210 N. Madison Avenue, Mason City at about 3:23 am Friday.  Authorities say it was a dispute between 30 year old Bryen Paul Servantez and an ex-girlfriend.  Servantez allegedly broke a window at the residence and then fled the scene.  He later turned himself in at the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office.  2nd degree burglary is punishable by up to 5 years in prison.  3rd degree kidnapping carries a sentence of up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.  The punishment for simple domestic assault is up to 30 days in jail and a $625 fine.
