MASON CITY, Iowa – A local insurance company is setting up a reward system to help stop crime.
But they’re going to need your help.
Law enforcement sometimes use reward money to get information when it comes to solving a crime.
And now, the Iowa Farm Bureau is hoping that same strategy works for them.
They are setting up a reward program that could help their clients too when a crime happens on their property.
“We hope that we never have to use it in a perfect world. The best thing would be we never have to use this reward program,” said Scott Leither, Director of Special Investigation with Iowa Farm Bureau.
He says the rewards for members who provide tips could be up to 1,000 dollars.
But the information would also have to lead to an arrest for the payment to happen.
