ALBERT LEA, Mn – After a scare, folks in Albert Lea will continue to have a grocery located on the west side of town.
Current store managers tell us Jim Baldus from Austin is taking over.
And more good news, he is keeping all the employees from the old store at his new store, Jim’s Marketplace Foods.
It’s located in an area where most residents live and can walk to get their groceries.
“They have Hy-Vee and they have Wal-Mart but this one’s so convenient if you live on this end of town so it makes a difference,” says frequent shopper Kari Ulrich.
She adds that this is a good sign for her city’s economy.
We’re told Baldus will be in Albert Lea next Monday to sign on the dotted line, and make it official.
