Accused kidnapper returned to Iowa

CLEAR LAKE, Iowa – A Minnesota man is back in north Iowa to face a charge of 1st degree kidnapping.  62 year old Albert Mesenbrink of Vadnais Heights was arrested on April 24th in connection with the allegeged assault of a Clear Lake woman on Easter Sunday.  Mesenbrink was initially held in Ramsey County, MN on charges of being a predatory offender who violated registration requirements or intentionally provided false information to authorities.  Those charges were dismissed and Mesenbrink was released Tuesday.  Clear Lake Police then transported him to the Cerro Gordo County Jail where he is being held on $1,000,000 bond.
