ROCHESTER, Minn. – Rochester authorities are looking for a man who was seen carrying a gun near the St. Pius campus Monday. One of the students at the school ran across the street to fetch a ball, when the armed individual found the ball, and handed it to the child. No threats were made, but several adults witnessed the gun on the man’s hip.
Police do add though that if you have a permit you are allowed to carry a handgun, “the statute does not make any provision that handgun has to be concealed.” Captain John Sherwin of the Rochester Police Department said.
School officials were notified and the school went into lockdown as a precautionary measure until the campus was cleared and it was determined there was no real threat.
