KIMT News 3- As drivers head out for the Memorial Day weekend, authorities are reminding them to buckle-up. Starting Monday, law enforcement from across Minnesota will be looking for those not wearing their seat belts. The campaign is part of the “Toward Zero Deaths” campaign put on by the state.
“Seatbelts definitely are working, over the last 5 years we’ve seen a decrease in fatalities with seatbelts involved,” Minnesota State Patrol Trooper David Hanson said.
This campaign will run until early June. Authorities say you are six times more likely to be injured in a crash if you are not wearing a seat belt.
