KIMT News 3 - With so many rollovers in the past few weeks, we went to officials for some advice.
They say to avoid these types of accidents, slow down if the roads are slick. Never swerve to avoid animals, and always think and look ahead.
“Main thing is, make sure people are watching ahead of them a good distance. You know, most people are watching too close to their car. They’re not looking far enough ahead to see hazards, you know, make sure they’re watching for animals, deer crossings, other vehicles that are approaching intersections that type of thing,” says Sgt. Dana Knutson with Iowa State Patrol.
A few recent accidents involved drivers trying to pass and ending up face-to-face with another vehicle. So, make sure you can see well ahead before pulling into the other lane.
