Servantez pleads not guilty

MASON CITY, Iowa – A Mason City man has pled not guilty to 2nd degree attempted burglary, 3rd degree kidnapping and domestic abuse assault.  A jury trial for 30 year old Bryen Paul Servantez has been set for July 29.  Police responded to a disorderly disturbance call at 210 N. Madison Avenue in Mason City in the early morning of May 2.  Authorities say it was a dispute between Servantez and an ex-girlfriend.  Servantez allegedly fled the scene and then later turned himself in at the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office.  2nd degree burglary is punishable by up to 5 years in prison.  3rd degree kidnapping carries a sentence of up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.  The punishment for simple domestic assault is up to 30 days in jail and a $625 fine.
