Several students got the opportunity to do some learning outside the classroom Wednesday.
It was all part of the 12th annual City Day project. Students spent this morning with adult volunteers from around Mason City.
KIMT News 3’s Sarah Danik was able to take part in the day. She showed Angela Eppens around the station. The adults showed the high schoolers around at our different jobs.
At KIMT, Angela learned how we put together a newscast. She even got to try out anchoring herself, and sees that it’s a lot more work to get a show on the air, than you might first think.
“Everyone, even if they’re not on the air, everyone helps participate in getting all the stories and stuff,” says the high school sophomore.
Students also got the chance to shadow adults from NIACC, the McNider Art Museum and City Hall.
