ROCHESTER, Minn. – There are a headache and now the federal government might step-in to change things.
Right now officials are proposing that airlines be required to disclose prices for basic items like checked bags, assigned seats and carry-ons. This is all with the goal to help fliers get the true cost of their flight.
Currently, only airlines are required to disclose bag fees, but some are not the exact price. “At the heart of it, I think if we keep the consumer at the center of the conversation, I think we can find some common ground,” Executive Director of the Rochester International Airport Marty Lenss said.
The rules would not be ready until 2015.
