ALLISON, Iowa – The Iowa primaries are less than 2 weeks away, and the race is on to see who will capture the Republican nomination for Iowa’s open U.S. Senate seat.
One of those hoping to become the nominee is Sam Clovis and he’s making his rounds in north Iowa. Clovis stopped in Allison to let voters know why he thinks he should get their vote out of five candidates seeking the nomination. Clovis says right now his main focus is letting people know who he is.
“I think one for me is to continue the process to get my name out there, that part of it, but I think it’s the message and the message deals with the Constitution,” said Clovis.
U.S Representative Bruce Braley is the only Democrat vying for the seat, currently held by Tom Harkin, who’s retiring at the end of this term.
