ORIGINAL STORY:

ROCHESTER, Minn. – Authorities say they have one man in custody after an early morning incident in both Kasson and Rochester.

According to Captain John Sherwin of the Rochester Police department, law enforcement were first notified that a vehicle from the Kasson area had fled from authorities and was now heading toward Rochester. After spotting the suspected vehicle, officers followed it into the 7th Street Northwest area. There, police believe the suspect, Randy Rocha, either got out of a moving vehicle or crashed it before escaping on foot.

Police believe Rocha then sought cover in a nearby home. When Rocha entered the home, authorities say he and the awake homeowner got into an argument. That argument police say became physical and spilled out into the front yard where officers could see them. Law enforcement say they tased Rocha before taking him into custody.

It’s unclear if the homeowner was hurt in the case. Captain Sherwin says Rocha could face charges of first-degree burglary, possession of meth, and an assault charge.

There is no word on whether Rocha faces charges in Dodge County as well.
