MNsure still signing people up

ALBERT LEA, Minn. – Open enrollment ended two months ago for most Minnesotans, but MNsure representatives are still traveling the area signing people up.

That is because people who qualify for medical assistance or MinnesotaCare can still sign up.

“Folks who would qualify for the public programs, medical assistance or MinnesotaCare,  can sign up through MNsure year-round and there are financial thresholds that they would need to look at,” said Jacob Grippen, Southeast Minnesota Community Outreach Liaison for MNsure.

Also, those who have dealt with a life changing event like marriage, divorce, loss of job or having a child can also sign up.

Many may still be left with questions, so they are answering what they can and even signing some people up.

“There’s still a lot of folks who don’t necessarily know. They’ve heard about MNsure, but they don’t know exactly where they would fall, what category they might fall into and what help they may be able to get,” Grippen said.

He said they are working on a consistent schedule of when they will be in towns across southern Minnesota.

They will be in Austin Thursday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Austin Welcome Center downtown.
