Former lottery employee charged

WEBSTER COUNTY, Iowa – A former employee of the Iowa Lottery is facing multiple criminal charges.  Toni Hammer of Alta is accused of 7 counts of lottery fraud and 1 count of tampering with records.  The Iowa Lottery’s Division of Security was recently notified of a discrepancy in records involving some retail locations in north central Iowa.  After an internal review, information was given to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation that led to charges being filed against Hammer.  Lottery fraud is a Class D felony.  Tampering with records is an aggravated misdemeanor.
