Last day to file in Minnesota

ROCHESTER, Minn. – The elections are months away but Tuesday was the last day to file for office in Minnesota.

The Rochester City Clerk believes there are numerous candidates who either file on the first day, which is in May, or the last which will fall in June. So far there are two men running for Mayor in the city, including incumbent Mayor Ardell Brede. There is also three council seats to decide. “It’s a big process and the county actually does most of that work which is a lot for them. The city and the county, Rochester and Olmsted county have a very good relationship with the elections, ” City Clerk Aaron Reeves said.

The elections will be held this fall.
