KIMT News 3 – Two rest areas along Interstate 90 will be looking different in a few weeks.
The two, located in Hayward and Oakland, will be shutdown for 10 weeks so crews can make improvements to both. “What they’re doing is remodeling and improving the accessibility for all motorists. To do that, they need to shutdown the bulk of the facility. Motorists can still stop there they will just find limited facilities,” Mike Dougherty of MnDOT said. Motorists will still be able to use the restroom at the rest areas but they will be portable ones. Overall the project will cost just under one million dollars.
