ROCKFORD, Iowa – The trial of a Rockford man accused of sexually abusing a minor has been delayed. 41-year-old Brent Michael Drees of Rockford was arrested in March and charged with second degree sexual abuse, five counts of third degree sexual abuse and one count of child endangerment. Drees allegedly had unlawful intercourse and other forms of sexual contact with a minor female in 2012 and 2013 when she was 11 and 12 years old. His trial was due to start on Tuesday, but has been continued with no future trial date set. Second degree sex abuse is a Class B felony, punishable by up to 25 years in prison. Third degree sex abuse is a Class C felony, punishable by up to 10 years behind bars. Child endangerment is an aggravated misdemeanor.
