UPDATE 6 p.m.:
The Minnesota State Patrol has identified those involved as Kevin Franzen, 52, and Travis Franzen, 14, both of Winona. They were hospitalized in Albert Lea with non-life threatening injuries.
FREEBORN CO., Minn. – Two people were injured when the motorcycle they were riding left the road and rolled into the median.
It happened around 1:24 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 90 near milepost 160, west of County Road 92 in Freeborn County. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the two were westbound on a 1993 Honda when the driver lost control. Those on the motorcycle have not yet been identified, though a trooper on the scene tells KIMT News 3 it was a father and son. They were taken by Gold Cross Ambulance for treatment. The bike is a total loss.
Roads were described as dry at the time of the crash. The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, Albert Lea Township Fire, Hayward Fire and Gold Cross Ambulance also responded to the crash.
