MASON CITY, Iowa – Authorities have arrested four more suspects in connection with an extended investigation by the North Central Iowa Drug Task Force. 43-year-old Lewy Lee Curtis, 30-year-old Adam Andrew Mertz, 29-year-old Christopher Michael Winter and 21 year old Broderick Christopher Vollbrecht, all of Mason City, were either arrested or turned themselves in.
Authorities announced on June 6th they were seeking those four after arresting eight other people on drug charges. Those were 39-year-old Christopher Lee Black, 58-year-old Edward Albert Walter, 28-year-old Jonathin Ray Wheeler, 45-year-old Roger James Foat, 38-year-old Jeremy Thomas Collins, 38-year-old John David Wilson and 53 year old Duane Eugene Robinson, all of Mason City, and 28-year-old Toccara Chantal Delaughter of Clear Lake.
All are described by authorities as low-level narcotic dealers and from the Mason City/Clear Lake area. We’re told the North Central Iowa Drug Task Force found these suspects when conducting other investigations.
One investigator on the case says it doesn’t matter how much they are dealing, they pay attention to it all.
“Really at no specific level are we more or less interested in people. Obviously the public wants to feel we’re getting the most important or the highest level dealers, but they need to understand that at all levels of illegal narcotics, either use or dealing, it’s important to infiltrate at all levels,” says Chief Deputy David Hepperly with the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers say they are still looking for two others. Daniel Vavrik of Mason City and Derek Demory of Albert Lea. If you have any information you are asked to contact the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office at: 641-421-3000 or Crime Stoppers of North Iowa.
