SABULA, Iowa (AP) — Authorities are searching for a 60-year-old Iowa man who has been missing since a fatal boat accident on the Mississippi River Saturday.
The Dubuque Telegraph-Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1sgkbu4 ) that Charles Selser of Clinton, Iowa, was driving the boat when it capsized in rough water near the mouth of the Elk River.
The Clinton County Sheriff’s department says all the boat’s occupants went into the water. Charles Selser was on the only one not wearing a life jacket, and he remained missing Sunday.
Authorities say 85-year-old Nancy Selser of Clinton died before she could be pulled from the water.
Thirty-year-old Edwin Selser, of Davenport, made it safely to shore with his two children, ages 5 and 7.
Windy conditions and rough water hampered the search for Charles Selser.
