Peak alert for parts of south Minnesota

ALBERT LEA, Minn. – Freeborn-Mower Cooperative Services and Heartland Power Cooperative have issued a “peak alert” from 11 am until 7 pm Wednesday.  Members are asked to wait until after 7 pm to use any unnecessary electricity, such as operating appliances.  The “peak alert” is in response to expected high temperatures.  Officials say delaying electric use until the evening will help keep costs low for cooperative members.
