MASON CITY, Iowa – It was opening day on Monday for two new Mercy Clinic locations in Mason City.
Health leaders with Mercy Medical Center North Iowa have reopened the Mercy Urgent Care facility and their Mercy Women’s Health Center in Willowbrook Mall.
It’s a switch that has been in the works for a while, and as a regular patient, Midge Gaylor of Mason City says she was excited to see the facilities, especially the women’s health center.
“I have been coming to the Women’s Health Center since 1996,” she says, “and I’ve been very happy with their services. I will not change just because they’ve moved locations.”
Losing clientele is a fear most businesses have as they make changes like this, but mercy administrators like Maureen Brantner say, because both clinics have such strong long standing reputations in the community that’s not something they’re concerned about.
“Now, it’s much roomier and there’s a lot more in the rooms, in the reception area, and it’s overall going to be a better service for the women of north Iowa.”
The hope is that their new urgent care facility will be better for patients as well.
