CHARLES CITY, Iowa - There’s some surprising news coming from a north Iowa school board.
“We were all in awe. There was no indication of it that we knew of. Maybe the superintendent knew something, the rest of the board was shocked really,” said James Frisbie, President of the Charles City School Board.
Joey Patten was just elected in September. Then on Monday he decided to suddenly resign because of a growing family and current job commitments. The board is expected to appoint a new replacement at a special meeting next month.
