RUDD, Iowa- A call about a house fire came in Wednesday around 2:30 in the small town of Rudd. The smoke could be seen billowing from the house over the top of the tree line as you drove down the road. The Assistant Fire Chief out of Nora Springs, Tom Alder says this site is what made him aware that they were going to be dealing with a working fire before he even pulled up on scene.
“When you are coming out of Nora, you are about three and a half, four miles out. You could see the thick black smoke,” said Alder.
The local fire crews of Nora Springs, Rockford, Charles City, and Floyd County search and rescue worked on the scene battling flames for over an hour.
No one was injured on the fire, but Alder says the house is considered a complete loss.
