MASON CITY, Iowa – Two women have been arrested on sex-for-money charges.
During an investigation by the North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force, officers say they
became aware of a prostitution ring working in the area. That led to the arrest on Thursday of 22 year old Elizabeth Jean Seals and 29-year-old Vanessa Fandohan, both of Mason City. Seals is charged with prostitution and Fandohan is accused of aiding and abetting prostitution. Both are aggravated misdemeanors punishable by up to 2 years behind bars and a fine of up to $6,250.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office says this activity has been going on in the area for some time. An investigation continues and anyone with information on this prostitution ring or other sex crimes is asked to contact law enforcement.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, Iowa State Patrol and Mason City Police Department assisted in this case.
