Peak alert in south Minnesota

ALBERT LEA, Minn. – A peak alert has been issued by Freeborn-Mower Cooperative Services and Heartland Power Cooperative.  Customers are being asked to avoid unnecessary use of electricity from 11 am until 7 pm Monday.  High temperatures are expected to increase demand for electricity so the co-ops are requesting their customers not use appliances or other high-energy-use items until later in the evening.
