ROCHESTER, Minn. – A Red Wing teen is not getting your usual graduation gifts, but toys instead.
Jodeci Buck recently graduated from high school. Instead of money, she asked people to bring toys for the children at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Wednesday morning, more than 200 gifts were loaded onto carts and given to those who need them. Jodeci has a younger sister who went through cancer treatments .She decided the children needed a boost. When Jodeci was just seven, she asked for toys for the children on her birthday. Now all these years later she is doing it again. “It will help them know that everything is going to be okay. That no matter what happens, there is always toys in the end,” Jodeci said.
The teen will attend college this fall and she says her favorite part is seeing the children smile.
