WORTH COUNTY, Iowa – A local organization is changing how they hand out some of their grant money but it’s not a permanent change. The Worth County Development Authority decided that they aren’t going to be taking the typical route this year. Normally, they reward the money to businesses and organizations within the county, but this round will go toward a natural gas pipeline. It will run from Lake Mills to the Diamond Jo Casino exit. Deb Hanson, Chief Financial Adviser for the WCDA, says they did a similar project like this in 2012.
“It’s been wonderful, because our county residents support us when we do this. They know that it’s a win-win situation for Worth County, “said Hanson.
She says education grants will not be impacted though.
