ROCHESTER, Minn. – Monday is a big day when it comes to construction on a local highway.
MnDOT officials say crews will be out working on Highway 14 starting on Monday. “We will start construction of the first Highway 14 corridors of commerce funding we received this past November. It will go from Highway 218 just on the east side of Owatonna for three miles,” MnDOT Project Manager Heather Lukes said. Officials are hoping to get more funding to cover a stretch of more than 10 miles that could go from two lanes to four lanes. Authorities believe this could keep drivers safer on the road.
Lukes says they also received more than one million dollars on Monday for future Highway 14 projects.
