CLEAR LAKE, Iowa – It’s no surprise that this holiday weekend is a busy one for local law enforcement.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, Clear Lake Police and the Iowa State Patrol are just a few of the agencies stepping up enforcement for the 4th of July weekend.
So far the big celebration in Clear Lake hasn’t caused any major problems.
But the sheriff’s office, along with the Iowa DNR, are continuing their efforts to cut down on drinking and boating.
“There’s been a couple arrests made yesterday, for public intox, boating while intoxicated, minor consumption citations that have been issued so far this year, just yesterday. That enforcement will continue on through the weekend, trying to make sure everyone’s safe on the water,” says Deputy Brian Koob, with the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff.
