ALGONA, Iowa – A late night stabbing at a north Iowa bar leaves one man in recovery.
It happened just after 10:40 p.m. Saturday night at the Afterlife Lounge in Algona.
Police say they received a medical call from an employee at the bar and responded to the scene where they found a 33-year-old man on the sidewalk suffering from stab wounds.
The identity of the man has not yet been released and his condition is unknown at this time.
He was first transported by paramedics to the Kossuth Regional Health Center and was later transferred to Mercy Medical Center North Iowa.
Algona Police officials along with the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office and Iowa State Patrol responded to the scene.
Officials with the Algona Police Department tell us that no arrests have been made at this time and the incident remains under investigation.
