Bad egg victims sought by feds


CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – If you got sick from contaminated eggs in 2010, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa wants to hear from you.

The business known as Quality Egg or Wright County Egg, along with two company officials, pled guilty on June 3 to a misdemeanor charge of introducing adulterated eggs into interstate commerce.  Eggs contaminated with salmonella were sold by the company for the first seven months of 2010.

Anyone sickened by those eggs, or otherwise hurt by the incident, has the right to submit a Victim Impact Statement during the sentencing phase to explain how the crime affected them physically, emotionally or financially.  Impact Statements can be submitted online at
