ALBERT LEA, Minnesota – Three members of the Albert Lea Township Fire Department got a very nice surprise Monday night; they were awarded for helping to save a life.
Scott Kruse from Stansfield, Minnesota suffered a heart attack in May after a demolition derby. The three men, Mike Czaplewski, Tim Brenegan, and Tom Ferland helped keep him alive with CPR. Now, Kruse is giving his heroes an eagle statue to show his appreciation.
“Letting the Albert Lea Fire Department know how much I appreciate them, and how grateful that they saved my life,” said Kruse.
Captain of the fire department says looking at situations like these knowing CPR is critical.
He encourages many to learn the skill in case of an emergency.
