ROCHESTER, Minn. – The issue of aggressive panhandling in Rochester is getting more attention.
On Monday, the city council talked about the issue which seems to happening in the downtown area. City leaders believe that panhandlers who reach out and grab people or sit near ATM’s is becoming a bigger problem that needs to be fixed. Some ideas on the table include having those panhandlers feet away from those locations. “That seems to be OK but again it could be challenged later on. But I think that’s the route that we are going to be going, can’t come up and touch you, things like that,” Rochester Mayor Ardell Brede said.
A vote could happen as soon as July 21st.
