Owner speaks out about robbery and shooting

ROCHESTER, Minn. – The owner of a southern Minnesota grocery store is talking about the night his store was robbed, and his friend was shot.

Nasir Hassan, who owns Eastwood Grocery, says the incident happened all within 15 seconds last month. Hassan says he was closing up shop when the suspect entered the business, pointed a gun at him, and then wrestled with a co-worker. That employee suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder during the struggle, but is making a recovery. As for the suspect, he bolted from the scene and hasn’t been seen since. “I would like to solve the case. I would like for the victim who got shot, also for the store owner, but for the community at large to hopefully getting an identification of the suspect and get him prosecuted,” Investigator Steven Beery with the Rochester Police Department said. “I believe the police will find this person, that’s what I believe. Whether it takes a month or year, this person will get justice,” Hassan said.

Police are also looking for the person seen helping the suspect get away from the scene. If you have any information on the case please contact police or crimestoppers.
