Locals helping with tornado cleanup

CLEAR LAKE, Iowa – A local group of volunteers is heading south, and it’s being done for a good cause.

18 people from Open Bible Church in Clear Lake are heading to Tupelo, Mississippi after a tornado hit their community in April. Ruth Crotty, a volunteer with the group, tells us she is ready to help rebuild.

“Well our churches mission statement is to love God, love people, and go serve. By doing this we’re showing that we love God, and that we love people, and we want to serve them,” said Crotty.

The group will be gone for eight days along with people from more than 40 states.
