ROCHESTER, Minn. – A weekend gas station robbery lands one person in jail.
Rochester Police say it happened early Saturday morning at the Holiday gas station on North Broadway. They believe 36-year-old Ralph Hodges pumped gas, and then walked inside, where he proceeded to demand money and threatened to kill the clerk’s family. Nobody was hurt, and Hodges didn’t have any weapons. However, once he left with the money and cigarettes, Police engaged in a small pursuit in order to arrest him. Authorities deployed stop sticks during the pursuit and this led to Hodges eventual arrest. “So, you have to balance the threat of the suspect has with the community, versus the threat of anything happening during the pursuit,” Lt. Casey Moilanen with the Rochester Police Department said.
Hodges faces numerous felony charges.
