ROCHESTER, Minn. – Before the first pitch is thrown at the MLB All-Star Game, folks in Rochester are already celebrating.
Monday night it was announced that the Channel One Food Bank in Rochester is receiving $500,000 for their organization. The bank beat more than a handful of other organizations for the money, which they say is much needed. “$500,000 is going to go a long way towards our 20,000 additional square feet of warehouse space, our freezer and cooler expansion, and our teaching and community classroom,” Director Jennifer Woodford said.
The food bank serves 13 counties in southern Minnesota and Woodford hopes to have the project done by the end of August.
