DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) — Jury selection is expected to resume Tuesday at the third trial of an Iowa man charged with killing his wife and unborn child.
Defense attorneys for Seth Techel will get their turn questioning members of a panel of 36 potential jurors at the Scott County Courthouse in Davenport.
They, and the prosecution will then take turns striking 10 members each, until a jury of 12 members and four alternates is seated.
Techel has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and nonconsensual termination of a human pregnancy in the May 2012 death of his wife, Lisa, at their home in southeastern Iowa.
Juries, at two previous trials have been unable to agree on a verdict, which led to mistrials.
The third trial is expected to last two weeks.
