ROCHESTER, Minn. – We are months away from winter, but already folks at MnDOT are preparing.
A large amount of salt has already been stored at the MnDOT location in Rochester. Those with the state agency say loads of salt have been coming in since last month, but they wrapped up the work Tuesday. “We can’t predict the winter weather like last year where we had the record winter. You just make due and react to it. This, under average winter, this could get us through,” Public Affairs Coordinator with MnDOT Mike Dougherty said about the salt.
Dougherty believes the salt weighs many tons.
