AUSTIN, Minn. – There’s just a little bit more of summer to savor before the kids head back to class. In fact, some local students are already hitting the books.
Tuesday was the first day back to school at Sumner Elementary School. The school operates on a 45-15 calendar.
As all students prepare to get back to a more structured schedule, education leaders say there are limits parents should implement at home. They suggest following three key rules.
“One is to stay calm. The second is to set limits and the third is to encourage cooperation. If you can do those three things, you will have a very happy home,” said Amy Baskin of the Austin Public School District.
