Dayton visits school children

ROCHESTER, Minn. – Governor Mark Dayton learned, and sang the alphabet song and even talked about his dogs Thursday morning to school children.

Dayton visited kids at the Northrup Elementary School in Rochester to highlight the importance of early learning scholarships. Around $49 million in new funding for scholarships was provided by Dayton and the legislature to 9,000 children across the state. “56 young kids, 4 or 5 years old who wouldn’t be here this summer if it weren’t for that so I can thank the legislature and the initiatives that they took and we need to do more of this,” Dayton said.
