Local company recognized, now they are giving back

DEXTER, Minn. - A southern Minnesota business was recognized this year for their work. They are now saying thank you by giving back.

Starting Friday, T ‘N G Plumbing will be seeking essay nominations as to why someone in Mower County would deserve to have their bathroom remodeled. Nominations will be taken until August 15.

Multiple local businesses are jumping on board to donate their services, including Wagner Construction, Austin Electric and more. The Holiday Inn will donate a room for the winner while the renovation is taking place.

There are certain criteria they are looking for.

“A family or person that truly deserves to have this done. Just a lot of hard knocks in their life and have had some tough times. We want to show them that there’s still good out there,” said Gina Grundmeier, co-owner of T ‘N G.

Grundmeier said she has a “pay it forward” kind of attitude. It reminds her of when they lost their home to a fire a few years ago.

“The outpouring from the community was so overwhelming. It was beautiful, the things people did, and how gracious and how kind they were. Now I’m in a position where, wouldn’t it be great to do that for somebody else?” Grundmeier said.

Email your entries to payitforward@tngplumbing.com or send a letter to T ‘N G at 64456 230th St., Dexter, MN 55926.

She said if things go well this year, they would like to make it a yearly event.
